Name: Polianthes tuberosa commonly known as tuberose.
Family: Agavaceae, agave family
Varieties: Single or double
Description: The buds open up to soft, pinkish-cream flowers that have a heavy, sweet scent. Tuberose is therefore more commonly used in bridal work.

Availability: All year round
Care Tips: They can last up to fourteen days provided they have been given either bulb flower food or the standard cut flower food. If they bend towards the light and you want to keep them straight, just nip off the top buds.
Trivia: Because of its sweet, heavy fragrance, tuberose was cultivated for centuries in the South of France for the perfumery world. Today it still plays a key floral note in the perfume industry.
