Tulips - UK grown
Most people think
all tulips are grown in the Netherlands. In fact many are grown in the UK, particularly
in Lincolnshire. The season in Britain runs from January to April with some flowers
being grown out in the open, which means the crop is dependent on the weather,
and in milder years may be early. There are dozens of varieties grown
in the UK, including trial crops of new colours and shapes. We have pictured 36
of the best here (9 for each month of the season) and we have grouped them here
by colour, and they are displayed with the earliest flowering varieties listed
first.
