Crushed Velvet

African violets or saintpaulias are grateful little plants that tolerate warm, dry air very well and will flower non-stop for several months. They have soft velvety leaves and the deep pink and purple flowered varieties have a plush, opulent look.

Water them under the leaves to avoid stains on the foliage. Place them in a light, warm spot and deadhead them regularly and you will be rewarded with even more flowers.
