its wonderfully unusual shape. Ugly - or beautiful? The Jatropha podagrica's tuber
- which can be several centimetres high - produces thick leathery leaves and small,
strong flowers. It is sometimes called " Buddha belly" or "Gout
plant" due to this bulging trunk! The plant likes a sunny spot and can cope
