Shocking Pink, on the Borderline

The decorative pinkish red edges bordering the leaves of Cordyline fruticosa are partly dependent on the surroundings in which you place the plant: if you place it in full sunlight (where you should water it frequently), it will lose its intense colours. A light place away from direct sunlight is better for the colours; in these conditions, the plant will also rapidly produce new leaves from its heart. When the old leaves drop from the plant, you can see how Cordyline grows in the Pacific: on a stem.
