Blechnum gibbum
Name - Pronounced BLECH-noom GIB-oom, its common name is tree fern.
Description
- It has decorative leaves which can grow to 1m (3ft) in an open rosette shape.
It will need a reasonable amount of space indoors. With age the plant develops
a short, black trunk.
Origin - South America

Varieties
- Blechnum gibbum is available in both narrow-leafed and wide-leafed varieties.
Care
Tips - It grows best in warm, not hot rooms away from direct sunlight. Although
it is tolerant of dry air, it should be kept moist during the active growth period
from mid-spring to late autumn.
Trivia - Although from tropical
and subtropical regions it is more tolerant of dry rooms than most ferns.
