Cattleya
Name - Pronounced KAT-le-a and named after William Cattley (1788-1835),
an English horticulturist who brought it into England from Brazil by mistake and
was successful in cultivating it. Description - A sumptuous and
delicate looking orchid that now comes in various sizes, shapes and colours (through
many hybridisations). They have large, fleshy roots called pseudobulbs (used as
water storage). Origin - Central and South America Family

from vibrant red, pink, yellow, lime green to iridescent white speckled with purple
dots and pastel colours such as lilac. Care Tips - Like most cultivated

humidity (for any orchids), feeding during their growing period, and good sunlight
and ventilation.
