Crassula
Name - Pronounced KRASS-you-la. Crassula argentea is one of the most
popular species and is better known as money plant or silver jade plant.
Description
- Because there are about 300 different species of Crassula, there are no typical
foliage or growth characteristics to help identify one. All are easy-to-grow succulent
houseplants.
Origin - Most cultivated species come from Southern
Africa and the Mediterranean.
Family - Crassulaceae
Care
Tips - Crassula can withstand the dry atmosphere of a centrally heated homes
and does not require much attention. It can also be placed in a sunny (but not
direct) position as it has a waxy coating on its leaves that protects it from
strong light. Keep it moderately moist in summer and almost dry in winter. Do
not let it stand in water.
