Cycas
Name - Pronounced see-kas, it's the Greek name for a palm. The common
name is (Japanese) sago palm.
Description - One of the oldest plants
on earth, it grows a leaf every one or two years. Its leaves branch out in a circle,
like a miniature date palm, but it is not a palm. Cycas revoluta is the commercially
grown variety.
Origin - South-east Asia, Japan

Care Tips - Bright light throughout the year.
Without light they will not grow or their leaves will become mishapen. They like
warm temperatures and can tolerate as low as 13°C (55°F) in winter. Keep
moist in summer and water less in winter.
Trivia - Best grown
on its own as it is a dramatic plant!
