  • Name - Pronounced MED-in-illa. Common name: rose grape
  • Description - A magnificent, majestic tropical plant, with long pink sprays of flowers shaped like bunches of grapes which are set in pink bracts. The flowers are shaded by a canopy of arching leaves. The stem of the plant is woody and has many branches.
  • Origin - Philippines
  • Care Tips - Enjoys a bright, warm position with no direct sunlight. Requires high temperatures (18-27°C/64-80°F) during summer. In winter keep cooler (15-18°C/60-64°F), this allows the plant a rest period which is essential for further flowering. This plant requires high humidity - spray the leaves each day and place the pot on a saucer of wet gravel. Use a moderate amount of soft water - never allow soil to dry out. Water less during winter. Feed weekly from early spring to late summer. When buds show, increase watering and temperature. It is best suited for a conservatory where it should last for a number of years, if correctly cared for.
  • Trivia - One of the most expensive houseplants due to its need for controlled temperature and humidity levels.
