Immature dates (from the Phoenix palm), like marrowfat peas, and shiny brown hypericum berries, are ensconsed in a furry collar of Amaranthus caudatus (love lies bleeding). This unusual, softly textured flower, in dark pink or olive green, can be left to trail naturally or used wrapped around an arrangement, as here.
