Veldt
A strip of bark encloses a simple bunch of red-hot
pokers and sunflowers. The pokers are left tall, to show off their
long smooth stems, and the sunflowers cut short. Grouping the flowers
together like this looks more modern - and more striking - than
scattering them randomly around an arrangement. For a fun variation
on this display, swap the sunflowers for ornamental cabbages or
artichoke flowers, both in soft shades of blue-purple. "Leonidas"
roses would work well too - they have the same unusual tan-terracotta
colouring as the red-hot pokers.
